D. Ramirez July 09 Mix
D.Ramirez, Uk Electro House producer & DJ, is making a stop in LA August 15th at Giant at Vanguard, where he will soon be making his new home in California. This mix gives you an idea of his remixes and orginals he has out there currently and you will probably seeing him playing Rain in the Palms soon. This mix also would compliment a day under a cabana in some art deco South Beach hotel.

No commentsBand Of Skulls Sunday & Free Tickets
The Band of Skulls, UK Indie Psychedelic Rawk, features a great women lead singer, Emma Richardson, that lays down grimey Indie shoegaze. She is also an artist, which mean fantastic things for this band because some of the greatest bands in the world are fronted by art school graduated musicians that understand the visual as much as the aural. See them this Sunday and the first person to leave this first and last name by Friday gets two free tickets.

Band of Skulls – I Know What I Am
Spinal Tap Movie Reissue Review
This Is Spinal Tap, is a 1984 mockumentary of a UK’s bands travels to stardom and sharp decline, available July 28th. If you saw this movie during your youth, you would definitely pick this film up with all its bonus features and extra goodies. However, this movie was before my time and I wish the British humor was more slapstick like some of the many newer movies inspired by this one. It has reached cult status as a movie and the actors actually learned to play on their own and continued to tour as Spinal Tap – just like the Monkeys did. It does make me wish that we would have some Spinal Tap movie of our own; that features some indie dance band or Dj producer duo having a hard time on the road. Stage malfunctions, groupies, band girlfriends, and some of the background drama of the film could remind you of current situations while on tour.

Aaron Garcia took these photos of the Say What?! Make Out Party for your pleasure and historical iconification. All Djs of the night destroyed it with some minor technical problems during DJ transitions that were quicly resolved. The Start came all the way from LA to headline the back area and did one of their longest sets in their history of playing Beauty Bar for their fans. Say What?! Pillow Fight Club is August 29th at Beauty Bar; so come down and see all your friends get Loaded & F**kd.
