Saturday! Pillow Fight Club! Bed In Photo Booth!

Pillow Fight Club last year was a huge success as a theme, which resulted in an imitation of the idea twice on the strip. We can expect Little Red Radio to sing their hearts out with an incredible set, so get there before 12. It is always free inside so invite everyone because it is my birthday.

Heavy Metal In Baghdad, a 2007 Rockumentary film that follows an Iraqi metal band Acrassicauda from 2003 to 2007 (via bonus film Heavy Metal In Instanbul). The film comes highly rated by critics but I have avoided it due to experiencing Iraq documentary overload. It does convey the message of these other documentaries - that we have seriously screwed up the lives of ordinary citizens of Iraq but also captures the despair, angst, and struggle of the band as it tries to find a home. One thing I am sure, there are many things musicians take for granted living outside the middle east. Where is our Electro in Baghdad?

DIAMOND STUDDED MOTHASHIP from Megawave 8 on Vimeo.
Ruckazoid & the new album Diamond Studded Mothaship is Michael Jackson’s milk – it will kill you with how good it is. A preview of the the album Diamond Studded Mothaship, which features artwork by our favorite graphic designer Zonders, is one of the few occasions when I’m supper excited about a release; and you should too! Diamond Zoidal’s vocal addition to the album is the “final release” you have been looking for. Too bad the release is late 2009 or early 2010.

Acid Girls – The Numbers Song from IHEARTCOMIX Records on Vimeo.
The Acid Girls are coming to Las Vegas and you have to see them live at Beauty Bar next week. Their new single “The Numbers Song” is coming out September 1st via Iheartcomix Records. You may go to jail if you watch this video – with its webcam and hole in the bathroom wall scenes. I think more artists are trending 18+ video releases that are edgy and sexy to gain the audiences attention. The video was directed by Taylor Cohen and produced by Otto Arsenault for FVMMO Films.

burns- teknique from Thomas Bachellier on Vimeo.
Burns, UK producer, was main lining Justice & Aphex Twin on this one. The sound repetitions in the song can be tedious at times, but I know it will get some love in the remix blogsphere. He likes to chop stuff up in his other songs, which I’m a huge fan of live when it is all glitched out.

Alpha Inventions is an automatic slideshow of blogs that is like TV channel surfing. It could definately use a graphic site redesign to make it look more professional. I do see some incredible potential if you could create this as a Word Press plug in that would automatically cycle through your site’s favorite links for the reader. There are so many great current music blogs out there that you should be an RSS subsriber to.
