The Toxic Avenger Toxic Is Dead : Morbid Video Fat Track

October 30th, 2009 | Category: Mp3's, Music

The Toxic Avenger – Toxic Is Dead from IHEARTCOMIX Records on Vimeo.

Parisian electro thrash producer, Toxic Avenger (Iheartcomix) has released  his new EP ”Toxic Is Dead”  (featuring remixes by Drop the Lime, Franki Chan, Cyberpunkers, and South Central).  This video, directed by Steven Ilous, is a bit morbid, and has a special apperance by Frankie Chan that is not obnoxious.  The orginal track is fantastic and I wish I could give that away for free.  However, you will  have to settle for the Franki Chan remix.  Two years ago some of you will remember that Toxic Avenger played Beauty Bar Las Vegas- you missed out if you were not in the know than.

BURNS DJ Set @ LAX Friday October 30th (Cancelled)

October 26th, 2009 | Category: Events/Parties, Mp3's, Music

Scottish DJ/Producer BURNS is making a stop in Vegas on the US leg of his tour with DEADMAU5! You can catch them spinning at Luxor hotspot LAX on the night of October 30th (his 25th B-Day). Interesting bio on this guy. His mother was a painter and father, a heavy-weight boxer.

With a growing list of official work and a newly released 3rd EP, of his 4 EP Installation dubbed Teknique”. Burns has been hard at work, and I’ll think we’ll be seeing quite a bit more him in the near future. The past couple years he’s seemingly gotten an increasing amount of exposure, picked up some great gigs, not to mention remix duties for the likes Kasabian, Empire Of The Sun, Late of The Pier, Passion Pit, Filthy Dukes, Yuksek, Gossip, and Calvin Harris (who even named a song after Burns on his #1 UK Album).

“Teknique” was released several weeks ago on August 31 to rave reviews, so I’m just gonna be safe and assume that by this point in the tour, he has probably got his set locked in and sounding superb. But then again, it’s gonna be the night of his B-Day, and he may just be anxious to party in Vegas for the first time? Guess we’ll have to see. Check out a few of the tracks he’s worked on, including the latest remix for Islands Records’ FrankMusik.

Say What?! Zombie Blood Orgy Party Photos

October 25th, 2009 | Category: Events/Parties, Photos

Say What?! Zombie Blood Orgy was filled with zombies gorelore and a cornocupia of costume extravaganza magnificence for your glorification and elation – by our photographer of the night Know Well.  The fight downtown for the underground music scene’s soul continues versus the many venues and parties that turn out medicore and vapid imitations of the real thing.  Thank you for all who came to  support the music, the scene, and Say What?!  We have always been here for you, though some of the music and people have changed through the years – we love you and Las Vegas always and forever.

No Age Emerica Shoe Collaboration

October 24th, 2009 | Category: Style

emerica-laced-no-age-sneakers-1

No Age, nowave LA band, signed to Sub Pop who were recently on tour with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs; have created these bad ass kicks with Millennium Shoes.  They are minimal gray with a subtle reggae color added for a fresh look and must buy for any No Age fans.  Is clothing, shoes, and other lifestyle merchandise the new frontier for bands stuck in 360 deals?  You can also expect them at Beauty Bar for free on November 3rd courtesy of Antics.

Lissy Trullie : Pete Dougherty’s Kissing Cousin

October 23rd, 2009 | Category: Mp3's, Music

Lissy Trullie – “Boy Boy” from Downtown Music on Vimeo.

Lissy Trullie, NY post punk princess, is Aida Maria’s more talented sister or Pete Dougherty’s crazy kissing cousin - burning bright pre Babyshambles.  I do wish her vocals were a little more grimy and dirty from a few years of self abusive partying and with a tad more F You attitude in there -but hell she has time.  Her remastered album “Self-Taught Learner”, composed of some of last year’s ep, is now out on Downtown Records.

Agape Attire : I’m In Love

October 23rd, 2009 | Category: Style, Visual Arts/Design

300222

Agape,LA based clothing collective, has some great graphic design skills and a great eye on how to print.  The designs are large scale, intricate, inventive, cute, and funny.  There alot of religous themes in the artwork, which may exclude others from buying them.  However, it is a good example of well done shirts- all they need is good marketing and store placement.
